Chinese Festival Features Tea Arts & Culture

June 18 - 20, 2004


The Chinese American Community Center (CACC) will hold a three-day Chinese Festival on June 18 - 20 (Friday - Sunday) at the intersection of Valley and Little Baltimore Roads in Hockessin, DE. This year the festival features the Chinese tea culture. A delicate Tea House will be set up to demonstrate the tea making process. Participants can taste various kinds of tea and delicacies. Artful teapots, its size no bigger than a fist, and tea sets will be on display along with other arts and crafts. There will be rare demonstrations of Chinese seal carving. The festival also has performances of lion dance, dragon dance, Chinese Acrobats, martial arts, and more. There are plenty of children’s activities for the whole family to enjoy. And, as always, scrumptious authentic Chinese cuisines are available at the picnic area.

The Chinese festival is open to the public. It is designed to promote cultural awareness and diversity in the community. Admission is free, and parking is available for a $3 fee.
