Chinese American Community Center
May 25, 2009
On behalf of the 2009 Chinese Festival committee, I’d like to thank each and every one of you for your generous contributions to this year’s Chinese Festival. As of today, we have over 100 volunteers singed up in various tasks and received a total of $13,790 out of 102 pledged donors. Your overwhelming and generous responses to the Festival have touched and warmed every heart of the committee members. You are indeed the driving force of this community and we, the committee of 2009 Chinese Festival, are very proud of being a part of it.
For the past 14 years, our community has proudly organized the Chinese Festival. Our mission is to foster the understanding and appreciation of Chinese culture. This year, due to the downturn in the financial marketplace, the donations from local businesses have been severely reduced. Therefore, your contributions are that much more important to the festival in order to maintain the level of exhibitions and performances as in the past years.
The 2009 Chinese Festival is held on Friday, June 19, Saturday, June 20 and Sunday, June 21, 2009. The theme is “The Evolution of Chinese Cooking”. Authentic Chinese cuisines, unique exhibition of Chinese bronze culinary replicates and special performances will be featured in this year’s festival.
I can not thank you enough for your generosity and am looking forward to seeing you at the festival.
Sincerely, Shirley H. Tseng Chair, 2009 Chinese Festival Committee |
